Ingredients
  

  • 2 medium oranges, peeled
  • ½ lemon, peeled
  • 3 dates
  • cup orange peels, minced
  • ¼ lemon peel, minced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp honey

Instructions
 Start Cooking 

  • Peel the orange and lemon, removing as much of the bitter white pith as possible.
  • In a blender, combine the peeled orange, lemon, dates, and ½ cup water. Blend until completely smooth.

  • Transfer the mixture to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the orange mixture, citrus peel bits, cinnamon stick, ground cinnamon, and honey.
    ⅓ cup orange peels, ¼ lemon peel, 1 cinnamon stick, ¼ tsp cinnamon, 2 Tbsp honey
  • Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cook for 30–35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and deepens in sweetness.
  • Remove and discard the cinnamon stick.
  • Allow the puree to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator.
