Skin Smoothie

This Skin Smoothie is built around ingredients with some of the strongest evidence for supporting healthy skin from nutrition. Omega-3 fatty acids and linoleic acid help support the skinโ€™s lipid barrier, and research has associated adequate intake of these fats with better hydration, elasticity, and protection against processes involved in skin aging. Antioxidant-rich ingredients like matcha and berries provide polyphenols that help combat oxidative stress, which contributes to collagen breakdown and visible skin aging.

I also included prebiotic-rich ingredients to support the gut microbiome and the emerging gut-skin axis, which is the connection between intestinal health, immune signaling, inflammation, and skin function. Rather than relying on one trendy โ€œbeautyโ€ ingredient, this smoothie combines healthy fats, antioxidants, fiber, and prebiotics to target several nutritional pathways involved in maintaining healthy skin.
