Easy Seared Ahi Tuna
This Seared Ahi Tuna is a quick dish that is rich in lean protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which support heart health and help reduce inflammation. The tuna is briefly marinated, coated in a sesame seasoning crust, then seared for under a minute on each side to keep the inside tender.



Easy Seared Ahi Tuna
Ingredients
- 2 ahi tuna steaks
- 1 Tbsp yuzu
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
Crust
- ¼ cup white sesame seeds
- ¼ cup black sesame seeds
- ½ Tbsp garlic seasoning
- ½ Tbsp onion seasoning
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
Garnish
- Green onions, chopped
Instructions Start Cooking
- Coat the ahi tuna steaks in the marinade and let them sit for about 5 minutes while preparing the crust mixture.2 ahi tuna steaks, 1 Tbsp yuzu, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 tsp sesame oil

- Evenly coat the tuna steaks with the crust seasoning mixture, pressing gently so the seasoning adheres to the surface.¼ cup white sesame seeds, ¼ cup black sesame seeds, ½ Tbsp garlic seasoning, ½ Tbsp onion seasoning, 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear the tuna for 45–60 seconds per side, allowing the outside to develop a crust while keeping the center rare.

- Remove the tuna from heat and allow it to rest for about 3 minutes before slicing.

- Slice the tuna and top with green onions. Serve on its own or with a side of rice.Green onions
